iTunes Error 2324

I just got my iPhone 3GS and I'm trying to update iTunes to version 9.2 so I can get my phone setup (as per the AT&T instructions).

However, when iTunes tries to update I get the error message "The installer has encountered an unexpected error installing this package. This may indicate a problem with this package. The error code is 2324."

I tried un-installing and re-installing all Apple software on my PC to no avail.

    Any suggestions?

Try uninstalling all your Apple software (Bonjour, Mobile Apps, iTunes, etc.) and Quicktime. Then, visit the iTunes download page on Apple.com and download the iTunes 9.2 installer (it includes Quicktime). If you're on a 64-bit system, make sure you download the 64-bit version.

Finally, you'll want to right-click the install (.exe) file and select "Run as Administrator." Hopefully this will do the trick and you won't run into the dreaded 2324 error.

Had this same problem. I went to the control panel > programs and features and I deleted all the quicktime and apple/itunes stuff that I could. (itunes still couldn't be deleted) Then I downloaded and ran the install for itunes 9 and it worked.
