I have recently restarted my computer back to factory settings, I am on Internet Explorer 6 and was trying to update or install Internet Explorer 8, but I keep getting the same page: page cannot be displayed etc, cannot find server or DNS error Internet explorer?

It sounds like you need to adjust your network settings so your computer can use the Internet. You'll need to enable Internet access before you can download the new Internet Explorer 8.
Questions that can help us troubleshoot:
- Can you access any Internet pages?
- What version of Windows are you using?
thank you for that, I can access every internet page except when i go to microsoft? I get the microsoft page up, press download internet explorer 8 and then the error page comes up?
I am using windows XP
What browser are you using to access the MS page - Internet Explorer 6?
We've also had troubles upgrading IE 6 to IE 7 or 8 on a number of older PC's.
Instead of downloading the update through the MS site, try using Windows Update to get the download. If that doesn't work, post back and we'll troubleshoot further.
